familiar phrases dont translate so well...

so one night i got to texting a friend of mine who is from slovakia..

this is how it went.......

slovakia: "morgan, come visit me"

morgan: "its so late though!!"

slovakia: "but i havent seen you in a long time

morgan: "i would love to come hang out but i might have to take a rain check"

slovakia: "rain check?"

morgan: "have you never heard that phrase?"

slovakia: "no, what does it mean?"

morgan: "it just means a promise that we will hang out another time because tonight isnt good"

slovakia: "okay ill take that promise"

morgan: "alright sounds good"

slovakia:" ill check the rain with you tomorrow"

....the next day

slovakia: "hey morgan, is it raining?"

HAHAHH!

thats my new favorite slovakia story =)
